Steve has 15 years’ experience in transport planning and economic development working across both the private and public sectors. He provided advice to clients, their partners and key stakeholders on developing long-range plans and strategies, advising on policy and governance, and making the case for funding and devolution of powers.
After 10 years with Steer, Steve joined the UK government’s Cabinet Office for 18 months. He was Senior Policy Advisor to the Cities & Local Growth Unit working on City Deals, Growth Deals and Strategic Economic Plans, and the very early days of Devolution Deals. During his time at the Cabinet Office, he worked across all areas of local economic development and specialised in transport and infrastructure.
Steve returned to Steer four years ago as Deputy Head of our UK Planning division, and subsequently became Head of Planning. Since May 2018, he has been Head of Transport Strategy & Economics – a new division serving local and central government clients in the devolution and economic development space.
