A burst of fresh thinking on the impacts of international connectivity for the North of England

Movement Matters is a series of inspirational seminars, debates and workshops in the UK and USA, presented by Steer Davies Gleave, exploring new inspiring ideas about places, people and economies. The UK sessions have so far featured a range of thought-provoking and stimulating topics including ‘The rise of the high-rise’ on how London can cope with increasingly higher densities, ‘Disruption or decline, what’s next for the black cab’ and ‘The future Railway Organisation’. These seminars were a total success and gathered industry experts and clients in insightful sessions that provided fresh thinking without keeping attendees out of the office for too long.

Organised jointly with SDG Economic Development, our next event in the UK — A new horizon — Manchester/Beijing connectivity, will take place on Wednesday 11 October in Manchester and will provide a forum for an informed discussion on the subject of how the direct Manchester-Beijing flight route is impacting Greater Manchester and the wider North.

Our specially-selected expert panel will discuss the various ways in which this direct connectivity can lead to broader, sustained economic benefits, including the associated infrastructural investment, added value to the skills and knowledge base and enhanced trade performance.
