'Interconnect' Lincoln - Grantham bus study

Lincolnshire County Council has appointed transport consultancy Steer Davies Gleave to undertake detailed market research to evaluate the success of the popular Lincoln to Grantham bus service.

The Lincoln to Grantham service, operated by Stagecoach, is part of a wider network of Interconnect services. It is branded as Interconnect One and was launched in 2003. Interconnect services are intended to stimulate a switch in travel behaviour from car to bus, increase social inclusion, and bring about a greater awareness of bus services generally.

A specialist market research team from Steer Davies Gleave`s Leeds office will carry out the study, which includes on-board surveys, a telephone survey of local residents and focus groups.

Notes to the Editor

  1. Steer Davies Gleave is a member of the British Market Research Association.
  2. Stagecoach runs the Interconnect One service largely on a commercial basis, with some journeys, for example on Sundays, being supported by Lincolnshire County Council.
