Jon Williams joins Steer as Associate Director

Jon WilliamsSteer is delighted to welcome Jon Williams as Associate Director based in the London office. 

With over 23 years of experience in transport and development planning, Jon brings a wealth of expertise and a proven track record in providing strategic advice to both public and private sector clients. Throughout his career, Jon has successfully acted as a project partner and project manager, offering guidance on a wide range of land uses, including residential, retail, and employment development. He has effectively coordinated single and multi-disciplinary teams at every stage of the planning process, ensuring seamless project delivery.

One of Jon's key strengths lies in identifying access and transport strategies that enable the development potential of both greenfield and brownfield sites. His technical skills encompass Transport Assessments, Environmental Impact Assessments, transport strategy reports, planning appeals, public transport, and traffic calming and management schemes. Additionally, Jon has extensive experience as an expert witness at appeals, informal hearings, and written representations. He has also been instrumental in assisting with major inquiries related to transport and highways matters.

Beyond his professional achievements, Jon has a profound interest in sustainable travel and the evolving landscape of mobility, such as Mobility as a Service (MAAS); the acceleration of changing work patterns resulting from the pandemic; and the response of authorities to climate change and how these factors will shape the future of transportation.
